RESULTS

LEAGUE PLAY
Friday, April 16th
After a 3-week break in the schedule, the Diablo ruggers were back in league action vs. their Gold Division rival Lamorinda.   The Diablo squad last played on the 27th of March and due to spring break and torrential rains, their practices were severely limited during the 3-week break.    Conversely, LAMO was fresh off a 1-week playing tour of Vancouver and the surrounding areas of British Columbia where they racked up a 4-0 win-loss record against Canadian competition.

Nonetheless, the two sides got down to business early in Friday night's tilt.  The action was fast paced and hard-hitting with LAMO sustaining a consistent advantage in field position.  However, the Diablo boys never gave up and had several bursts of momentum through hard tackling and long runs.

Late in the game, LAMO held the 19-7 lead but Diablo had two very promising surges deep into LAMO territory that came up empty.  Both teams coaches commented post game on the clean, disciplined, hard play of both sides and about the bright futures that many of the players on both teams will have in their future, rugby playing careers.

Diablo has one league game remaining vs. De Lasalle on Friday the 23rd followed by the PCIT tournament on the 24th/25th.

Diablo scoring - S. Hausia try, Matt Carter conversion.

Saturday, March 27th

Diablo heads into the Easter break playing well and looking forward to getting some of the injured players back for the remainder of the season.
